Why Shame Only Works If You Agree With It

The idea that we need shame to be “good people” is lazy psychology and it’s wrecking lives.

We’re told shame is necessary.
That without it, we’d be selfish, immoral, or dangerous.

Empathy is what actually allows us to connect, care, and repair.

This is why people with low empathy don’t experience shame.
The issue was never “not enough shame.”

It was disconnection.

This clip unpacks that myth.
