Shame Has No Positive Function

A 51-second reminder of what shame really does — and why it disconnects us from ourselves and others.

Shame doesn’t guide you, protect you, or help you grow.
Its only function is to shrink you, make you feel small, and disconnect you from yourself and those around you.

Other emotions serve us: anger shows us boundaries, fear alerts us to danger, sadness signals loss or need. Shame? It only keeps you small, compliant, and easy to control and dominate.

We’re taught to believe shame keeps us “good” or moral, but that’s a lie.

Recognizing this is the first step toward taking back your power, reclaiming your presence, and connecting fully with yourself and others.
